Privacy Policy

Effective: May 29, 2026

This Privacy Policy describes how the ETflow English Tigrinya mobile application (“ETflow,” “the app,” “we,” “us”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use it. ETflow is a free English–Tigrinya dictionary with learning tools and an AI chat feature, published by an individual developer and offered “as is.”

You can contact us at any time at nahomhabteab5@gmail.com.

1. Information we collect

Information you provide

When you use the in-app AI chat feature, the text of the messages you send is transmitted to our backend in order to generate a response. We do not require an account, sign-in, name, email, or any other personally identifying information to use ETflow.

Information collected automatically

Information stored locally on your device only

Dictionary lookups, favorites, learning progress, flashcard state, and game scores are stored on your device and are not transmitted to us.

2. How we use information

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for any purpose unrelated to operating the app.

3. Third-party services

ETflow relies on the following third-party services. Each operates under its own privacy policy, and we encourage you to review them.

Google AdMob (advertising)

We use Google AdMob to display advertisements within the app. AdMob may collect your advertising identifier, IP address, and information about your interactions with ads. Learn more: Google Privacy Policy · AdMob data practices · How Google uses data from sites or apps that use its services.

Anthropic (AI chat model)

The AI chat feature is powered by Anthropic’s Claude models. When you send a chat message, the text of that message is transmitted via our backend to Anthropic’s API to generate a response. We do not attach any account information to these requests. By default, Anthropic does not use API request content to train their models. Learn more: Anthropic Privacy Policy.

Cloudflare (request proxy)

Chat requests are routed through a Cloudflare Worker that securely proxies them to Anthropic so that API credentials are not stored on your device. Cloudflare may process request metadata (such as IP address) in the course of delivering the request. Learn more: Cloudflare Privacy Policy.

4. Advertising and consent (EEA, UK, Switzerland)

If you are located in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, ETflow uses Google’s User Messaging Platform (UMP) to request your consent for personalized advertising before any tracking identifiers are used for that purpose. You can change your consent choices at any time from the app’s settings.

If you do not consent to personalized advertising, ads may still appear, but they will be non-personalized — meaning they are not based on your interests or interaction history.

5. Children

ETflow is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the app, please contact us at the address above so we can delete it.

6. Data retention

Chat message content sent to Anthropic via our Cloudflare Worker is processed in real time to generate a response and is not stored by us. Anthropic’s retention of API request content is governed by their privacy policy. Locally stored data (favorites, search history, learning progress, etc.) remains on your device until you clear it within the app or uninstall.

7. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights regarding your personal data, including the following.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at nahomhabteab5@gmail.com. To opt out of personalized advertising independently, you can also reset or limit your advertising identifier in your device settings.

8. International data transfers

The third-party services we use (Google, Anthropic, and Cloudflare) are based in the United States and may process data internationally. By using ETflow, you understand that data may be transferred to, stored in, and processed in jurisdictions outside your country of residence, including the United States.

9. Security

We use reasonable technical and administrative safeguards — including HTTPS for all network requests — to protect information processed by the app. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Effective” date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
